hey all im looking to purchase a self climbing stand. i currently own 2 stationary stands which i have set up on my property, but i would be nice to have the versatility of one that i can put where ever i want. with that being said i was wondering if you guys can guide me into the direction of a good stand that is easy to use for the most part, and not a tank to carry. also i was wondering what kind of safety harnesses that y'all use. the common problem that i always run into with them is ...

Just got my safety harness from Muddy and I have to say this is the best thing on the market. Its lighter than that other popular brand and is much easier to work with than the generic one that comes with every stand.

You certainly do not feel like you give up safety for the simple design. Plus the bino hook up is an wonderful feature. I got away from wearing a safety harness because it made a mess of my bino system.

If you havent gotten one yet, I strongly recommend this product!

This afternoon I went down to lil Iowa (not area 51) to do a bit of scouting to hang a Muddy stand. Well after looking over the property aerial and discussing it with my partner, we decided to go down to the west ridge where we found a flat spot on top of a hill inside of a field corner on top. Really nice with many acorns. We found a great spot with some white acorns (yeah baby) and burr oak acorns. The bottom side follows along a fence line along a huge open valley bottom 1000 yards wide. I have had a few but the one that comes to mind actually involved my buddy Jack (username Jackhammer). We were both hunting a pinch point about 40 yards from eachother.

We both had climbers. I climbed up my tree about 25 feet. I ...

Hey guys, I just got an unreal deal on a tree lounge stand. It has the bow hunting platform, gun rail, and wheels that attach to make it a deer cart. I looked it up online, for all of it is almost $600. It was all new in the box at a garage sale for $100, so of course I snapped it up. It really looks comfortable, but I've never talked to anyone who has used one, I've just read that they are a bear to lug around and horrible to climb with.

Well I was thinking about this today and I'm only about 90 days or so out from Tree stand hanging time. Sure it's hot and sweaty work but man does it pay off in season. I have several new stands to hang this year. Even have a two man stand I got over winter. My son is 7 now and I like having a stand or two to take him too so I picked up a large platform 15 foot ladder for the two of us. I'll also have one or two of the new muddy set ups around. Might just save those for carrying in to hunt. ...
