What deer lure do you have the best luck with?

Just wondering what deer lure you guys have the best luck with.

I dont use alot to lure them just more over a cover scent maybe some dominant buck just to get them to come that extra 20 yards

The time of the year determines what type I use. But as far as brand I really like HoosierTrappers Supply.

Code Blue Standing Estorus. It's exspensive but it's the only scent I've had work for me.

I agree, this is very good stuff.

I have had some really mixed responses with deer lures. Here in NE Ohio we are extremely close to Doc's deer farm so you can always count on his stuff to be fresh. However, I have 2 farms that I hunt which are approximately 65 miles apart and I can utilize Doc's in one place and the deer will tear it up and then at the other farm and they will not touch it. I have absolutely no explanation for this. Folks also talk about how important it is to keep the scent as fresh as possible but I have had deer hit year old scent better than the new batch I bought that year.

The only tried and true technique I have found that seems to work almost everywhere is making scrapes with my own urine. I know it sounds crazy but I have seen deer come to it time after time. I dont bottle the stuff or anything I just take care of natures calling when I need to and make sure there is a licking branch near by. In all fairness I have only does and smaller bucks checking it out and adding their own scent.

Ive heard of people doing this before but never tried it myself. I also know people that have said they just went off their stand and had deer come thru and check the spot out not long after and not even think about spooking. Ive never tried it but thats not to say it doesnt work.

I am going to be trying Docs stuff this year... I have heard a lot of good things about them.

I recently visited the Doc's farm and after seeing how the deer are cared for and just how fresh the product is I'm sold 100%. I left there with urine that was less than 2 hours old.

I dont really have much luck with scents, but I do try to use them as a cover. I have used my own urine in scrapes. It worked really well for me last year. Opening morning of Muzzeloader I had two hunters walk right in and check the scrape, they never knew i was in the air 25 feet above em. Private land in Oklahoma isnt always so private.

I'm sure those 2 fellas look awful nice on your living room wall. LOL!

Doc's is located less than about 30 minutes North of my home. He has a good thing going and seems to have worked thru some of the earlier issues he had when partnering with Browning.

From what I hear he also has a Playboy Playmate doing the segment sequences for his hunting show. I believe she has made some appearances at his deer farm as well. Not sure if she hunts but who care anyway right?
