I am thrilled!

Well, I am thrilled!!! Here's what happened....On July 5, I fell down our front steps, in the rain, and broke my right arm in 4 places. 2 breaks were complete breaks in my elbow! It has been a long ride, let me tell you. I was in a full arm cast at first and could not do anything...being I am right handed. My 8 yr old had to help me even take a bath. lol Well, I got the cast off and have been in a brace and support wrap. The dr ok'ed me to try my bow....as soon as I could but not to overdo it. I tried it a couple of weeks ago, but could not even pull it back. It was a killer pain! I shot 4 arrows last week. I about died for several days, it was so sore. Well, today, we went to the archery range, as we do every Sunday afternoon. I decided to just take mine and see what I could do. I shot 20, 30, & 40 yards pretty well. They all were close but not on a dime, like my hubby....lol Got them all in about the size of a softball. I am thrilled!! I will be working it alot now!! Come October 15, I refuse to be left behind! lol lol

I am sorry to hear about your accident but glad to hear you are doing well. Getting a softball group after not shooting that long is pretty darn good if you ask me! Good luck with the rest of your recovery.

Thats a pretty fast recovery, shooting your bow after less than 2 months. Congrats on the healing, I went through something similar last year and I was out half of a year. Good luck on the hunting season!

Yes, what surprises the dr is that it has only been 7 weeks, as of yesterday and I had 4 breaks....2 complete major breaks in my elbow!!! I was told up front that I needed surgery but I put it off and decided to rehab it myself with weights. I started working it as soon as I got the cast off and got in a brace. It hurts something awful when I am working it, but it has definately paid off. Just 2 weeks ago, I could NOT pull my bow half way back. Now mind you, I was very sore this morning but as the day has went on, it is much better. I still have a while to go as far as being totally well. I still can't bend it out straight but it bends far enough to pull back my bow. lol As long as I got that and as long as my finger reaches the trigger on my
30-06, I am good..... lol I can continue to heal during hunting season! hehehehehehehehehehe Thanks for the encouragement everyone! Suzanne
