a little while earlyer in the season it was youth gun season. so my dad decided he would bring me we were on a farm we never deer hunted before we always rabbit, turkey and duck hunted it but never deer hunted it so we brought our 300 ultra mag. out for my to shoot remember we have never hunted this place for deer and we set up in a blind on the corner of a field that was filled with clover. and the whole time i was telling my dad that i wanted to do a spot and stalk kinda thing so we ended up seeing a doe at this little like bend that goes down into a little part of woods so i got my gun up and dident see her again so we kinda just kept it up there and then. at the corner of my eye i see somthing i say there see is o now shes gone i dont know what happened she came like trotting up the hill stoped in her tracks and lookes at us and took of i dont really know what happened but then my dad said i guesse we can go on and get out and see if there are any deer in the field and then we were walking across a bean field and i see somthing i look up and tell my dad that there is somthing on the hill in the field so he pulls up the scope and sais man thats a GOOD buck so it was about 300 yards away and it was getting dark and im like this mite be a spot and stalk time so me and my dad pland out what we were going to do and then im like dad its kinda getting dark here we have to go so we seen this big grass pile in the middle of the field and we already came half way together and then we got behind that big grass pile so he couldent see us and i told my dad that i wanted to try to stalk this thing be my self so he let me so we were like 150-200 yards away and i finnaly get to the big grass pile and this 300 ultra mag. is REALLY heavy for a 12 year old so i come the edge of the grass pile and i dident se him and i turned to my dad and hand signaled to him " i dont see him" he siad he went down in this little vally and it was getting dark i couldent barely see anything so i turned back and i seen a tail flicker and i turned around and told my dad the stop walking and sure anof there he was so i took the saftey off FREE HANDED the 300 i had to go "HEY!" to get him to stop free handed it and shot and all i see was white belly. we got up to him and i have gottn a 140 class buck i was so proud of my self and my dad was proud of me to Smile

That is awesome. Great story. Congrats on what sounds like a nice deer. If you can get some pics up I am sure everyone is going to want to see him. Congrats again!!!
