PostSubject: New marlin rifles   Sun Jan 10, 2010 11:17 am

Has any one on here tried the new marlin line of rifles?? My friend went and bought one just before the rifle season last year and got it sighted in and used it. Its in 7mm-08 and it shoots like a dream for him!! He shot a deer with it and for the price on that rifle it was well worth it. Think he paid like 300 at a gun shop here in clearfield pa. But if they all shoot as good as what his does it would be well worth it!!

I haven't shot one either, not a big rifle guy. It's shotgun only where we are at. So it's bows and smokepoles.

You need to come up here to PA CA and have some fun with a rifle!! Rifle season is a blast exspecially when they hist the open fields where we can hunt. Nothin like seein 7-8 deer bustin across the field and gettin one in the scope and leetin a chunk of led fly down range and smackin your target at like 400 yds!! But its mainly just bein able to spend time with friends and loved ones in the woods for those 2 weeks!!

I get to do a little rifle hunting when I get down to VA, but the last few years TG and I have been filming and he's to cheap to buy a VA liscence and we have better bucks up here in MD. So I don't get down there much.

My friends dad comes down there and hunts every year. He has taken some real nice buck down there in tears past. Dont know if he made it down there this year or not thoough. But as long as ya have fun and enjoy the time in the filed with friends and family thats all that matters.

I havn't shot one yet but I've handled them. Wow is all I can say. The new XL7 is a miracle of simplicity. They put together a nice rifle. While not as sleak and finely finished as some others, they gave it a great trigger and they are supposed to be very accurate. For under $300 it's taking what savage did to the next step. Might have to end up with one eventually.
