Never been ice fishing before. One guy just brought my brother in law ( he's a taxidermist ) a 7 lb large mouth last week that he caught while ice fishing. He said he would rather fish through the ice than any other time of the year.

Indeed we had a large time on the ice. Fished for about an hour, maybe hour and a half for those. Ice fishing can be a real freezer filling venture. We don't always get enough ice to do it every year. And, if the ice is snow covered, it can be real slow...the fish go very dormant in all that dark. But if that snow melts off, they turn on! And that's what happened this week.

Here in my neck of the wood's we have a power plant where the water curculates through the power plant to cool off the turbins. And as it runs through the lines the water recycles back into the lake keeping it warm year round. It never freezes, so the fishing espically the stripper Bass and catfish bite on just about anything thrown to them. So we fish there alot. Awesome fishing.

We have a power plant with the same deal with the warm water. I've never fished it, to busy hunting. I hear it's great catfishing.
