River fishing

I'll tell ya, what a night on the river last night. We headed over to an area I haven't hit in years but has been good to me. Started out at daylight scouting a few spots while musky hunting. Nothing happening there but I gave it a good shot till dark. That's when the action started. Wacked a few smal ones to start off but we got into this muddy grass flats and man they were in there heavy, big ones to!

Here's the first tanker to get wacked.



I was on a dang good roll for a while there where I just couldn't miss. Started holding off to give my buddy more chances. On this one he missed with the fish bolting so I took a hail Mary running shot and wacked him good at about 15 yards. That's what it's all about, nights like that. Wackin N stackin!!!!



I remembered to bring the tub this time but I really should have brought a 55 gallon drum!!! We shot ourselves a boatload, not bad for 3 hours of fishing.

Thats a lot of FISH!

what are you going to do with them?

Just make sure you dont sit down on that gaff hook! OUCH!

Thats what I'm wondering. Awesome shooting though! How big was the biggest do you think?

Carp are good....dig a hole, cover them up and plant corn next year. They're already under ground.

Yeah watch that gaff. We didn't have a scale but the longest one measured 39". The heaviest one wasn't quite that long but really had a lot of girth to it.

What a boat load. That looked like a great time.

Had another good night on the river wackin carp. They weren't as heavy this time but fun none the less. Took a buddy out for his first time, he thought it was awesome. Before we knew it 1am rolled round and we were still on the water. Brought a barrel this time, filled it just over 1/3 way. Almost time to pack up the carp rigs and go fer some big game. I really need to take the musky gear as we seen 3 with one being 45"+.
