Here is a great view of a whitetail deer’s anatomy. I lot of people feel that there is a “Void” below the spine and above the ribs where if you shoot here you will not hit any vitals. This picture clearly illustrated that that is not the case. Rather a hunters bullet or arrow is actually going above the spine (which dips down a lot lower than some people think) and hitting the deer in the backstrap area of the deer thus allowing the deer to most likey survive.
