Trail Camera Advice

Guy's i don't know much about trail camera's but im looking at a wildgame innovatipon IR4
Are they good or junk, also heard alot of bad things about cuddyback. I have never used any Trail cams, and need some experianced advice on the different brands, and one's to stay away from. Money would be an issue,

Hey Dale, not sure why you are hearing bad stuff about Cuddieback but they are pretty good camera's. I know a lot of people that have had good luck with them. I had extremely good luck with the bushnell trophy cam this year. Great pics and really good video and battery life. Moultrie has a new camera coming out this year that is very similar to the trophy cam but it will also pick up sound along with video.. I don't know much about the Wildgame ones so I can't really give you good advice on them

Thanks for the advice Robert, im wanting to buy a trail cam and just don't know anything about them, any of them. The site i heard the info on the cuddybacks i'll just keep to myself, i don't believe in public bashing of products, or online sites, not my style.

Battery life SUCKS for cuddies,I believe I may have used every brand out there,can't go wrong with Moultrie,If you can find a "Old" I40 they are the best I have used cause batteries last 4EVER in those things,I still have some out from last year that still have the same batteries in them and they take 200-300 pics a week. OH YEAH WILDGAMES ARE JUNK!!!!! at least the ones I have tried.

I said an "Old" I40 but I guess I said "Old" because they don't make them anymore,but buy one new,you can get them on ebay all day

Stealth cams are good starter cameras, I use a couple of those and some homebrew cameras that I love. I also use covert camera's. The batteries last for ever in them.

I've heard alot of good about homebrew cameras IF you can get a guy thats good at building them. Just kinda nervous about spending that kind of $$ for a home made camera.

The new smaller Moultrie is gonna run around 150 bucks if I remember right from talking to them. Would make a great camera on the feeder

I use alot of cameras, and really like the DLC Coverts. I also like the Moultries as well, but had a couple problems with 2 of mine this year. The battery life on the Stealth cam I used this year was terrible. I have 4 cudde backs but have not had great luck with them. I would try a Covert or a Moultrie, you will be happy with them.

I have used several different trail cams, they all have their good and bad to them. I would have to say lots of megapixels for the best pics and one that picks up movement at far distance. I used stealth cams, wildview, wild game innovations, moultrie, and tasco. Battery life is I would say one of the most important keys to a good camera, what good would it be to have a trail cam that had to change batteries every 2 or 3 days. There are a few things to consider before buying a trailcam.

I've had a few cuddies over the years and switched to the DLC Covert HR 8.0 last summer.I was very pleased with it,battery life was great on it,I think I got a couple thousand pics or more on a set of batteries.I plan on getting another one this spring or summer and putting it behind the house and property I plan to close on soon (within 30 days I hope).

i currently own 3 cuddeback captures and love them. they take great pictures and are very dependable. (at least in my case) . they have the easiest set up i have ever seen on a camera. I can literally set it up in less than 30 seconds after I have it strapped to the tree. the trigger speed is amazing. I have numerous pictures of deer mid run and turkeys mid flight and in the picture it looks like they are standing still.

Yep thats why im asking. You guy's know all about them. and all the answers i get from my friends here will be the truth.

Moultrie. Great price, good pictures , GREAT battery life and it seems to capture every picture possible. Steve is right, the I40 was the best made, sucks they dont make them anymore but the I35 Snivs just got seems to be just like it.
