Lets me know what you think. Did they shoot in a class to low for their skill or just using the rules to get a trophy. Or other reasons.
Score Changes
2011 1st Leg NTC Bedford, IN Score Changes
The IBO would like to announce that several score adjustments have been made for the First Leg of the IBO National Triple Crown held in Bedford, IN May 13-15.
These competitors have stepped forward and voluntarily withdrawn their scores, and the IBO appreciates their sportsmanship. We would like to clarify that for more than 15 years, the IBO has permitted those participating in target archery as professionals to take part in sanctioned IBO events at levels other than Pro.
It is a fact of our sport and its competition that significant skills in the Vegas Shoot or another target events do not always translate to equal performance in 3-D archery. The additional skills necessary to dominate in 3-D incorporate an ability to estimate the yardage and aim at a non-defined spot on a target.
Removing one or both of those proficiencies from a competition makes 3-D a different game and the IBO has always treated it as such, as reflected by our rules regarding shooting levels.
With this blurring of the lines between competitions, the Board of Directors will take a close look at this issue in the fall and clarify how our rules can best provide—fair and equitably—for this development.
