Got some interesting results with broadheads Empty
PostSubject: Got some interesting results with broadheads   Got some interesting results with broadheads EmptyTue Jul 19, 2011 1:29 am

Well this past morning I decided to sight my broadheads in. I'm shooting NAP 2 blade bloodrunners out of my destroyer with 4" quick spins on them. I sighted my new sight in a few weeks ago out to sixty yards and was nailing the target. So today I slapped my broadheads on and shot. First shot went high about 6 inches at 20 yards. I thought ok I pulled a little. Second shot high 6 inches. So I moved the whole sight up until I was hitting dead nuts center. I stepped back to 30 yards and was about 4 inches high. I moved the sight until centered. The gap is so small I'm glad I'm shooting .010 pins if not they would almost be over each other. I then step back to 40 yards and it hits about 3 inches low. WTH so I moved it also. Step back to fifty and damn near hit the bucket the target was sitting on. I ended up moving it down to almost my 60 yard pin. Then to 60 yards I adjusted before I shot just guessing on the other pin gaps and hit dead center. Ok lucky shot so I slung another and almost hit the same hole.
I'm pretty happy with the way they fly but the do have a noticeable noise when I was 40+ yards out. So if I have a 40+ yard shot I know I'm going to have to hold low to compensate for the deer dropping after the shot.
From now until I tag out I'm shooting nothing but broadheads.

Always shoot your broadheads mechanical or fixed before season no matter if they say they fly like field tips.

Did you have any problems when taking the bloodrunner out of the target? I've heard the blades like to break when pulling them out.

I was shooting at a small black hole target with a large cardboard box behind it fill with more cardboard. The arrows were blowing through the target into the cardboard. I was having to take the broadhead off and pull the arrow the rest of the way through. A few arrows blew completely through both and were stuck in the ground.
