Antler point restrictions

Does your state have antler point restrictions.. If so, what do you think about it.. IF not, do you want it ???




Missouri has it and i can say i see a number of bigger deer each year...Also it puts a stop to the if its brown its down concept because you have to study the animal and make sure it is legal before shooting..Its a good thing to me but it does suck having to have the wife pass on a little buck when she hasnt ever shot a deer...

Ohio doesn't have it but anything over 3 inches is considered a buck and we only get one buck per year irregardless of means of taking it so I think that helps us alot

that would be nice but what about cull deer?

Indy doesn't but I'm not for it either. After talking with friends in states with it I'm not sure it'll help. Plus I've seen a good number of basket rack 8 and 9 pointers that wouldn't gross 100 on their best day.

i feel that it would give the deer time to mature a little bit so there are not ust a millin little spikes and 4 points that are yearlings shot opening morning

There's a 3 point/side restriction in my area here, other parts have a 4 point/side. I do see more 2.5 year olds. As for older age bucks I'm not quite sure it's really helping. Either way it doesn't change what I shoot.
