| Can't really use riffles here in Indiana. I mostly bow hunt but I do have a H and R Ultra Slug 12 gauge and also a T/C Omega 50 cal that see action. Plus I also built me a St Louis Hawkins 50 cal that's ready to go as well | |

| When I was in PA I hunted with a Mauser 8mm Riffle. In Indiana I have only hunted with a bow, but in the past year I picked up a Mossberg 500 slug gun with the riffled barrel and a 50 cal T/C Omega. If I can put the bow down I will hit the woods with them this fall... | |

| Indiana changed their laws to allow rifle hunting with a pistol cartridge, so I use a ruger carbine in .44mag. Very fast handling sweet shooting little rifle. Hoping they go ahead and actually allow deer hunting with deer rifles. I'd love to be able to hunt with my 6mm and 300 savage again. | |

| can never go wrong with a good 30.06...It is a well rounded caliber and wont beat your shoulder up....Depending on the size of the game you are hunting, a 270 is also good and shoots real flat...hope this helps | |

| I have a couple. I shot a 308 for about 20 years and had good luck with it. Then I ran across a good deal on a 7mm Rem. Mag. that I couldn't pass up. It does a great job too; which you would expect. But I would have to agree that the old '06 is a great round and will do just about anything a person needs to do on this continent. | |

| I shoot a "bean field" gun. A Browning .270. Most folks here in the south use a .30-06, .308, .270 or the 7MM Mag for the big fields and cut-overs. I have friends who have gone to the 7mm.08 and love it. | |

| When I don't fill out my tags in archery, I pull out the old 308 to do the job... | |

| yes there are alot of choices....what sucks now is that the price of ammo is thru the roof...my buddy just bought a box of .38 shells for his off duty and paid $50...thats such BS! | |

| I have used my 30 30, .270, or .30 06. The main reason I recently bought a .30 06 is because that is what my M1 Garand uses. I have to many calibers to buy the way it is. | |

| In OH we have to use slug slingers. I have a few 870's and 1100's and just bought a new 1187 with rifled barrel. Also take out my TC Pro Hunter. All of these guns work well. We drive deer in gun season so open sights in the woods is a must. When we still hunt though its a scoped gun. | |
