| How many of you guys take the old school gear to the deer woods with ? I bought a Martin Savanha a few years ago and I'm gonna take it out this year and try to put a hole in something. | |

| I bought a recurve from Robert this spring just for this reason. I have been so busy I did not take the time to practice. Next year I think for sure. | |

| I would love to try it. I learned how to shoot a bow without sights when I started always wanted to do it again. Maybe sometime in the future I will give it a shot | |

| Switched to Traditional back in 2004, and sold my Brandnew Bowtech VFT. I now have 8 Trad bows but hunt with 4. Each person has their own reasons for hunting the way they do, for me I swear I wish I would have started out in Trad. but hey never to late.
Looking forward to the first and putting some meat down again this year.
Also a new goal for this year is a vendor at our last shoot at Farmland was a flintknapper, he gave me one of his points and I will be attaching it to a port orford cedar shaft, fletched with 4 inch sheild feathers from one of my Tennessee Jakes.
I will keep people posted how the season shapes up.

| Here is the picture of the stone point, It weighs in just shy of 105 grs. I will show you what I will be carrying this year, I update some arrows on my two curves. Port orford tapered ceders 55LB Ben Pearson, I have tried to use the serial number to figure out the year this bow was produced, best we can figure it was produced back in the late 60's to early 70's (Yes this bow is older than me and still shoots as hard if not harder than new one) I have started a custom arrow making business and also do woodies on the side, I call this Autman Death, they are port orford tapered 10inches, weight in with a 160gr VPA Terminator (Wensel Woodsman Elite non vented) 570 grains. 45lb Bear super mag 52 inch Made in the mid 70's, Will be shooting a bear greenhead super razor. 55LB Bear Montana 64inches long shooting a bear greenhead super razor. 54lb Black Widow LAG 66inches long shooting a VPA terminator 160gr on a birch laminated shaft. (Disregard the 2 blade Ace Standard on the end of the shaft, that was what I was going to shoot till I got my hands on the VPA) | |

| I started bow hunting when I was 12 with a Ben Pearson 35lbs pull. I continued to hunt with recurves for many years but after the second recurve "blew up" on me I switched to a compound. I know any of them can come apart and later learned it was my fault LOL. I have been seriously thinking about going back to recurve. All my friends would say my 20 year old Bear I hunt with is slower than a recurve LOL. It only shoots 220fps. I already have a turkey with a bow, now I want a turkey with a recurve. Next year maybe back deer hunting with one.
Good luck, I am sure it will be a blast no matter what. | |

| I would truly love to shoot a recurve. I love traditional hunting methods. | |
