Robert got me in the smokeing mood

Decided to break out the smoker this weekend and smoke something up.

we decided on a ham so i went to the store and picked up a Spiral cut bone in ham 10lber (allready cooked just needed heated up).

After i got home from shooting with Robert, I preheat the smoker to 230 degrees and get a light flow of hickory smoke a rollen.while the smoker is preheating. I open up the ham and take the glaze that came with it and throw it in the trash.

I took some mustared and put a small line all around the ham, then i get some Famous Daves Rib Rub and put it all over the ham and then just rubbed it in with the mustard until it was all over it and had a pasty feel to it,

threw it in the smoker for 2 1/2 hours and just keeped a light smoke rolling the hole time.

And just before the 2 1/2 hour was up i got out some Famous Daves origanel BBQ sause and mixed it with some hunny.(for basting)

when the time was up i pulled the ham out and basted it up with the BBQ/Hunny and put it back in for 30 more min.


And this is the turn out, and boy was it GOOD

you just had to do that LOL!Sure does look good!Where did you pick up the rib rub?I'm looking for a different one for next weekend!Going to do some more baby back ribs or maybe a brisket.

Man that looks good. Alot better than that Mcdonalds my wife just fed me.

you can pick it up at a menards or a rual king if you have one around you. here is a link to their home page aswell

This rib rub is awesome on a brisket aswell, that is the first thing we ever cooked in our smoker.

Looks great man, good job! When I read your subject title about "smoking" I didn't know what to think lol. Looks good though, I love some smoked ham.
