Opening Day Success

Man what a soaker this morning was. I could barely even see to drive my 4 wheeler down the road to get to my blind. I had to turn around 2 times due to high water before I finally made it to the blind. I saw 2 toms and a hen and was done well before 7:00 a.m. I heard him gobble shortly after flydown and called to him, he gobbled again and I responded with a few clucks. A few short minutes later he was dead 15 yards from the blind. As soon as I left the blind my dad came and hunted out of it. At 9:00 a.m. he heard a gobble and called a few short sequences and killed his bird. Sure was a wet but a good day. My bird was 21lbs, 24mm spurs, 10"beard. Dads was 27mm spurs, 11" beard, 24lbs.
