First Sheds of 2012

I've had my eye on this little spot as a secluded bedding sanctuary all winter and I had left it alone. I was trying to wait until the time was right to search it for sheds, which I figured would be in about a month or so. Well today I woke up and it was Rainy and Foggy and I couldn't wait any longer. I went in and picked up these sheds in about 5 minutes of searching. Now I'll leave it alone and hope to find some more in there in a month or so. Where this buck was bedded was amongst 2 tree tops on a South facing slope overlooking this bottom area. What a view . I find more sheds on rainy days than any other. Too me they realy show up on overcast days. I'd say these sheds will go 150".

Nice find!! thats an impressive set of sheds, most of our bucks are still carrying their racks, at least by what the cameras are telling me

nice, i went out yesterday and put a few shed traps out, hopefully i get a few here in the next week or 2. will go out mid feb and do some hunting.

Scored these sheds tonight. They score 153" with an estimated 18" inside spread. Also both G4s were broke off and were only 1 2/8" long. From trailcam pics I estimated that the G4s were around 7". That would put this buck grossing 164"+. Hopefully a BOONER this fall. I think I will definitely pursue him this fall.
