Not sure if you would call it old school or not but I love hunting with a pistol. Is there any other pistol hunters on here?

I know a couple of people who take pistols out a few times a year, but I haven't. My 45 probablly wouldn't be the best choice to take to the woods.

I have hunted that last to gun seasons with a pistol. I agree it is an absolute blast. I wish I would have bought a 44 mag just because of the availability of ammo. My pistol is a 454 Casull. I had a red dot on it but just tore it off after gun season and am trying to decide on adding a scope or just shooting it opn sights.

I would love to lock on some hogs in Southern Ohio and take one or two with it. Hogs are considered varmints by the DNR so all that is required is a small game license.

Yeah that would be sweet to get a hog with a pistol.

Thanks man, i was actually planning on shooting a doe that day, seeing how I was seeing the same 3 every time I went. Well they showed up this time with 2 bucks chasing them, and I took the bigger one! I was so excited that I couldnt find him in the scope at first.

I hunt with a handgun every now and then. Mostly squirrels and doe. Haven't shot a buck with one yet but I don't try very hard at it. Here in PA you can't use a pistol for hunting as they're semi auto. I use a revolver or a bolt action.

Can't you also shoot 45 Colts through that 454 Casull? They might be easier to find and less expensive.

Thats a great buck! I have small game hunted with my 22 and 38, but I'm not NEARLY good enough to take a shot on big game. I should practice more, but I like rifles and bows so much!
