Looks like temps are going to be in the 50's this weekend so I'm gonna break out the new Smoke Hollow smoker my wife got me for my birthday. I'll put some brine on tonight and then I should be good to go to smoke up some salmon this weekend. I've not smoked any before but have had some a buddy does and the family loves it.
This is a test run sort of so I'm ready to go when the runs up north start. Plus I want to smoke some turkey this spring

Can't beat smoking...I fired up my new masterbuilt smoker lastweek on some babyback ribs with applesmoke, man they turned out great(almost better than texas roadhouse lol). Also smoked some mac and chesse and that was great as well...Gonna try a brisket or some chicken next week...It kept its temps really good, since it's insulated, kinda looks like one of those mini fridges.

I'm getting ready to wash off the brine and let it dry for a bit and hope to have in the smoker here soon. It's a perfect day out and will be tomorrow as well.
I went with a dry brine this time and going with Alder chips in the smoker

Have fun. I was going thru the freezer today and with seeing all the backstraps and the nice weather we have today, I started to get the itch to fire up the grill.

Well my wife Andrea is the expert on this and she said the salmon was fantastic. This is my first go around on smoking anything so I wasn't sure how to make a brine or anything so it was a learning process. She bought me a really nice electric smoker for my birthday and I think it was so I could smoke Salmon for her, lol.

Anyways I guess it turned out great. Sure does smell good. I used a dry rub and Alder chips. Next time I'm breaking out the apple chips
