This is a pic of my friend Harley myself and my PA buck. Harley was a great guy that lived down by camp in pa. He would show up every morning and night to see what we killed. We spent alot of time with him. He passed away about a week after this picture was taken. I have this pictured framed and it hangs on the wall next to the deer that is mounted. He was just out of the hospital a day or so before this pic was taken and when we told him I shot him he went down on his gator and waited until we got him out of the swamp so he could see him. He is missed dearly. This picture was taken in 2005

Sorry to hear about your ole buddy. I'm sure it was nice having him around every season. We had a ole man at are camp all the time but he wasn't real friendly like your friend. He would allways gripe when we brought deer in. He would pretend he knew each deer we brought in and he would tell us what he called each deer and then gripe about us killing his friends.

Harley was a great guy he used to come to new york when he was healty and hunt. He was always alot of fun to be around. We could always count on him coming to camp and watching things. I have not been to camp in a few years but I am planning on hunting there this year and from now on. I have not been down because of all the surgerys on my shoulder over the past few years

Sorry to hear. It's great that you have photos to look back on. That is one thing I regret. Not taking enough photos. I try to take photos of everything.

Thats a great story, a lot of us have great memory's of an old man who influenced us, you're lucky you got a picture. You should write down your story of what you remember about him before the memorys start fading.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, the old timers are so nice with all kinds of knowledge and advice, now it's time to remember what they teach and impress upon us to pass to our family and friends................. Sad Sad

Yeah, there was one old man I worked for when I was younger doing work around his property and such. He was a came to America after the war. He fought the first two years of WWII on horseback in the British Calvary. I wish I would have sat down with him and a tape recorder, I hope I never forget the stories and wisdom he shared with me.
