Got the cliber on my tree

Well my buddy Kurt and I went out today and set our climbers on the trees we will be gun hunting out of. Our gun season opens up in the morning. We are set up in the area where the big bucks have been seen. There are 3 really nice bucks in the area. There are 2 big 8 points one of there pics are on the trail camera section and then there is a big 12 point. Hopefully one of us will be able to close the deal on one of them.

Im going to be taking the video camera with me and try to film my own hunt we will see what happens.

Done it many times. It does add a challenge to the hunt but is very fun to watch afterwards. By watching the hunt afterwards on the tv it shows me things I need to do better to make the hunt better.

Well everyone opening morning was a mixed day for me. I woke up pretty sick but still I was not going to be in the woods opening morning. I made it to my buddys Kurts hous a little after 5am after getting sick in his driveway I was still going to climb up in the stand. We left his house and headed to our stands we got settled in before daylight and waited for the sun to show up. I had a doe and 2 fawns come up the hill to me at first light they came in to bow range I let them walk off then about 20 minutes later another doe and fawn came in let them walk also. I then was setting there getting more sick. I heard something to my rear and turned around and there here was a buck. I grabbed the rifle and put the scope on him and it was justr a young buck. Got you guys excited huh. In total I saw 6 deer that morning after the buck came by It got worse for me in the atand and I could not stay in it anymore came home running a fever and sick. I did not go out for the afternoon hunt. Im going to go out this afternoon Tammy is out in one of my spots now she has never killed a deer last year was her first year hunting. I set her up in a great funnel spot so im hoping to get a call that she has shot a deer this morning.

Tammy did not have any luck this morning. I hunted tonight and had the same luck. Tammy will be headed back out in the morning I showed her where I set the ground blind up for her so now she will be hunting out of there.

Well the deer are not moving that much right now. The temps are really warm for this time of year and after all the shooting opening weekend the deer are going to need a week or so to calm back down. Should be good going to try my best to get Tammy her first deer this year thats my number one task for the year.

Hope she bags a big one, wait I hope you guys double up this weekend!
