Does anybody have any deer meat recipes from steak to jerky maybe a side dish or desert that they would like to share. It could be something passed down in the family, your own, or just something you came across.

GRILLED RUBBED VENISON.

2 TBS. Worcestershire sauce
1 TBS. dried parsley
1 tsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Paprika
1/3 tsp salt
1/2 tsp fresh cracked pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
sauteed onions (optional)

Peel or cut awat any fat or membrane from the meat. Rub meat with worcestershire sauce.
Mix together all dry ingredients and rub on venison evenly. let stand for 30-40 minutes.

Grill over med. heat until med. well done, because meat will dry out. When done, slice 3/4 inch thick per serving. Also good with sauteed onion's on top each slice.

Can asle be prepared in the oven. Roast at 325 until done about 22 mins. per pound for med. well.

I love hearing all the ideas and recipes from everyone but im not kidding man they all sound so good I dont know what to try first. I think im going to try the backstrap one first this weekend. I have a block BBQ pit in my backlawn that is on a covered pad so I cook rain or shine on it.

That the ticket right there. No limitation on the OUTDOOR cooking. Rain or shine.

Alright he we go. For those of you that work with me the secret is out. Write it down.

Simple Deer Jerky

2 to 3 lbs of venison cut into strips 1/2" to 3/4" thick. (Other meat can be substituted)

32oz Soy sauce (I use La Choy)

1 Tblsp Pepper

1 1/2 Tblsp Garlic Powder (Do not use Garlic Salt)

2 Tblsp Old Bay crab seasoning

2 Tblsp Liquid Smoke

Marinate for 12hrs - Mix every 3hrs

Place in dehydrator 6 to 10hrs (Pending Thickness) at 145 degrees
(Can also be done in the oven on low with the door cracked about 1/4")

That's all there is to it. Very basic, very simple with a great taste.
