My gobbler today

Got a gobbler this morning. My buddy Kurt called him he came in with another jake. This is the first gobbler I have shot. I have a few hens undewr my belt but never a gobbler. Thank you for calling him for me buddy. only had a 3 3/4 beard and 3/8 spurs. We get to take 2 birds here so looking for the long beard this time.

Its funny I have never been very big into turkey hunting. I guess its because I never had anyone around me growning up that was into it. I grew up hunting deer and small game but not turkey. Your right man my heart was beating and after I shot him I got the shakes it was great. Also to be able to share it with my buddy Kurt was alot of fun for me. I am hooked on hunting them now big time. We are aloud to gobblers here so holding out for a long beard this time.

I've never been that big on turkey either. Seems it's been growing on me lately though. Their numbers have been high here so I do my part on population control. It's also a nice to get out a do a little more hunting.
