Hi every one,
Attached are pics of the buck I killed Friday Nov. 7 in the afternoon! It missed being my biggest bow kill by a few inches. It was awesome! I had sat Thursday in severe wind and rain 15 min short of 12 hours and only saw one dink... I told my wife when I got home if it was windy the next morning I was going back to work Friday and was not going to waist vacation. I got up and it was as bad as the previous day soI went to work. I returned to the field about 12:45. The wind was wrong for the stand I wanted to hunt, so I decided to hunt the same area, just from the ground. My wife's uncle killed a 173+ from the ground 4 days earlier. It was her uncles third and best buck to date from the ground. It motivated me to hunt from the ground as well. I sat perched in my little nest until about 4:30ish and grunted this 150 ish buck in on a string. I shot him at about 6 yds quartering to me.. It was amazing being on the ground and making it all come together! Needless to say it was a rush as my friend thumper (my BOWTECH bow) and I sent Zipper (my Beeman MFX Arrow mated with a 100gr. Muzzy MX3 Broad head) through the target at almost point blank range! I am still on cloud nine from the whole experience. He only ran about 50-60 yds and KOed. Heather (my wife) took several good pics. Here is a couple to share. The boys green scored him at 146 5/8. My goal this year was to beat my previous best bow kill, but this will do to say the least.
I also killed my first black bear with my bow up home WI in sept. Then to top off this bow season my wife killed her first deer with a bow. A nice nine. Good buck for her first. She grunted it as well with same MADD grunt wheeze as I did. I hope you enjoy.
Hope I have not bored anyone…
