This afternoon I went down to lil Iowa (not area 51) to do a bit of scouting to hang a Muddy stand. Well after looking over the property aerial and discussing it with my partner, we decided to go down to the west ridge where we found a flat spot on top of a hill inside of a field corner on top. Really nice with many acorns. We found a great spot with some white acorns (yeah baby) and burr oak acorns. The bottom side follows along a fence line along a huge open valley bottom 1000 yards wide. The deer come right up the short hillside and can head to the huge organic farm (apples and many other goodies) or continue up the ridge line. I do not have the second stand set hung yet but it will be easy now that the first is set. The Muddy sticks are so easy to use and I love having both feet available to use. That cam system with the rope is a cinch.
As we were walking out. I step out to the ridge edge 25 yards from my stand and here is a nice crab apple tree with great apples on it. Well I put out some AK Trophy deer mineral and set up a trail cam. I cannot wait to see if I find anything.
