Went out after some birds this morning, but the birds were hard to get on. This morning set up in a spot where I thought I would see some action. Nothing, so I went and set up in the back part of the property. 45 minutes there and I heard some loud thunder. Usually this is a good thing if it is coming froma gobbler but this was from mother nature. An absolute monsoon came through. I had to make a mile walk back to the truck and by the time I got there I was soaked to the bone. Funny thing walking out it seemed like I was not the only one running for cover. Saw 8 deer high tailing into the thicker woods and further up a solid white yote was running. He was running more because of the sight of me however.
It finally cleared up and I decided to get a little fishing in. The system that went through really must have made them hungry. 3 cats and around 15 bass, unreal.
In the afternoon I went to a new spot that Darius and I will be hunting in the morning. Looks like a heck of a spot. I didn't spot in birds before the rain hit again BUT I did find somthing that I have never done before. A SHED ANTLER! It was from a young 6 point with some unreal potential. The rodent did a pretty good number on it but I did not care. I was pretty pumped up about the find.
Well I am off to bed. Morning comes early. Gonna meet up with my buddy Darius in the morning in hopes one of us gets a bird.
